Paola avant Gisselle: Paraguayan talent at the International Fashion Showcase 2014

Esta fue, apenas, su primera participación en Londres y aún así, el diseño paraguayo se ha convertido en foco de atención a los ojos del mundo.

This was just its first participation in London and even so, paraguayan design has become a focus of attention to the eyes of the world.

En su tercera edición, el IFS International Fashion Showcase 2014 reunió a 146 diseñadores emergentes provenientes de 30 delegaciones alrededor del globo, incluyendo solamente a tres países sudamericanos: Paraguay, Brasil y Argentina.

In its third edition, the International Fashion Showcase 2014 brought together 146 emerging fashion designers from 30 embassies around the globe, including only three southamerican countries: Paraguay, Brasil and Argentina.

Ñandutí/Beyond the layers fue denominada la exhibición presentada en Londres por las diseñadoras paraguayas Ilse Jara, Lucia Ferres, Astrid Poletti e Iciar Bravo, bajo la curaduría de Yanina Aubrey, haciendo referencia al encaje tradicional del país, el cual evoca a la telaraña.

Ñanduti/Beyond the layers was named the exhibition presented in London by the paraguayan designers Ilse Jara, Lucia Ferres, Astrid Poletti and Iciar Bravo and curated by Yanina Aubrey, making reference to their country's traditional lace which resembles to a spider web.

Creatividad, ingenio, sofisticación y una visión vanguardista hicieron posible que el cuarteto obtuviese una mención especial en el concurso (llevado a cabo durante la semana de la moda londinense) y haya sido superado sólo por Estonia. Además, Yanina Aubrey recibió una mención especial en reconocimiento al magnífico trabajo realizado en su rol de curadora. Algunas fotografías de la exhibición pueden ser vistas más abajo.
Creativity, wit, sofistication and a modern vision made it possible for the quartet to win a special mention at the competition (held during London Fashion Week), and second only by Estonia. Besides, Yanina Aubrey obtained a special mention in recognition of his magnificent work in his role as a curator. Some photos of the exhibition can be seen below.
